Dr. Barry S. McCrary
Executive Director
Dr. McCrary is a Professor at Western Illinois University. Dr. McCrary has over 30 years of experience working in the criminal justice field. He began his work in juvenile justice and has held numerous positions. Dr. McCrary worked for Allegheny County Juvenile Court, Community Intensive Supervision Program, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he was responsible for counseling, designing, implementing and monitoring a progressive treatment program. Dr. McCrary is the founder of a nonprofit organization entitled Maleness to Manhood Inc., which was a mentoring program for inner-city youth. In addition to his work for Juvenile Court, Dr. McCrary has worked as a counselor, consultant, therapist and crisis intervention specialist for various organizations. Additionally Dr. McCrary is highly interested and experienced in the field of Social Science, Administration of Justice, Corrections, Criminology, and Educational Leadership. Dr. McCrary is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Also a member of Alpha Phi Sigma, (Criminal Justice Honor Society), and Phi Kappa Phi, (honor society). Dr. McCrary’s overall mission is to,” Improve treatment to meet social developmental need”.
